Dr. M. (Ven) Venkatesan is an Emeritus Professor of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island, U.S.A. He was a professor and Chairman of the Marketing Department (20 years).
He has also been a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts, University of Iowa, and Wright State University, where he held an Endowed Chair in Marketing. He was the Director of Research and Professor of Marketing at the University of Oregon. He had been a visiting professor at INSEAD, Fountainebleau, France; ESCP, Paris, France; ISIDA, Palermo, Italy; Norwegian School of Economics and Business, Bergen, Norway; Madrid Business School, Madrid, Spain; American University of Armenia; University of Zagreb, Croatia; University of Technology, Sydney, Australia; Bond University, Australia; University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand; Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, Hong Kong; International Management Institute, New Delhi, India; Fulbright Professor at IIT, Madras, India; Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, India; and Loyola College, Chennai, India.
He is one of the Founders of the Association of Consumer Research and the Division of Services Marketing at the American Marketing Association. His Ph.D. is from the University of Minnesota, USA. He has been an editor for a healthcare journal and a reviewer for a number scholarly journals. He has published 3 books and numerous scholarly articles in the professional journals. He has been a consultant to many private firms and U.S. federal agencies. He was a member of the Research Committee for Consumer Research Institute, and for the Louisiana State Board of Regents’ Industrial Research Evaluation Committee.
