Prof. Bhamini Subramaniam is an M.Phil in English Literature and Diploma in Textile Design. She is the first Indian designer to showcase her “Spring Summer ‘98” line at CPD Fair, Igedo Germany. A recipient of the NIFT National Award for Excellence in Design and Outstanding contribution to the Textile Industry, Bhamini has compiled a design book “India”, written several articles and papers for leading journals, has been covered extensively by global media and TV channels, and designs for reputed select international and domestic clients from her own studio “Abhinav Creations” known largely by her signature brand “Bhamini”. She is now associated with the Institute of Contemporary Indian Artists Gallery as Designer-Merchandiser for their art store “The Shop at ICIA”. She has been involved in Textile & Fashion Education with premier institutes in India since the past 14 years. As an educationist and designer with a deep love for art, literature and music. Bhamini enjoys nearly 30 years experience in the industry, yet has the zest and zeal of a young creative mind who believes in continuous learning.
