Bharat Dabholkar is an icon in the world of advertising and media, playwright and stage actor, film actor and scholar who has changed the face of marketing communications in India.
Mr. Dabholkar has his own Advertising Agency Zen Communications, which has acquired some of the biggest names in the Indian corporate world as clients and went on to become the fastest growing advertising agency in India for two years in a row, as per an independent survey conducted by the Business India Magazine. The agency had a record of launching and sustaining the No 1 brands in India in their respective categories. (Goodknight, the world’s largest mosquito repellent brand, Tata Tea, UTI and UTI bank, the Exim bank, launch of Thums Up 500, Frooti, Hit, Tata Salt, Tata Cement, Tata Detergent and many others). A few of his outstanding achievements include: Creation of brand Amul- Utterly Butterly Delicious, Frooti, Appy, Tata Tea & L'Oreal.
He is the founder of revolutionary concept 'Hinglish' and transformed theatre presentations through legendary works like Sons Of Bottoms Up, Shivaji - The Enigma, Tamasha Mumbai Ishtyle, to name a few. He moved the audiences with his impactful roles in Bollywood films- Company, Corporate, Karam and recently Tara Rum Pum.
He has won several National Awards for Excellence in Advertising, namely, Amul Butter for 14 years in a row, Gold Trophies for LIC, Glaxo Laboratories, Tata Tea etc. & Advertising Campaign of the Year Award for Parle's Tetra Pak Soft Drink, Frooti.
He has won International awards for creative excellence and has read papers on Indian Advertising in International Advertising Conventions in Chicago and Okalahoma, USA.
He is a Member of the World Bank Team for a Nutrition Communication Projectin Tamil Nadu and on the Board of The National Institute of Event Management.
Eighteen years on the Jury Panel to judge the All India Excellence in Advertising for the Advertising Agencies Association of India.
Co-chairman of the Infotainment Committee of the Indian Merchants Chambers.
