Message Chairman, Academic Council

The present day management education is faced with complex challenges of changing economic scenario and business dynamics. The management education therefore, must undergo total reformation and upgradation to provide quality inputs to rightly selected aspirants and groom them into 'People sensitive' managers with ability to perform like entrepreneurs.

The management education to serve the needs of corporate in present days and times to come has to have three features:

  • Relevance of inputs to serve the immediate needs of the concerned industry domain, meet individual aspirations of growth and quality of life and the common good of the society at large in terms of equitable growth and environment. The Management schools should be able to meet this very essential requirement by designing curriculum that is contemporary and relevant.
  • Deployment potential of management graduates with adequate and appropriate grooming to serve the chosen industry domain, the role being performed and the spirit of entrepreneurship to manage new businesses or processes. The MBA graduates should be 'deployable' from day one.
  • Global mindset by relevant exposure to enable young managers operate in international environments, understanding the nuances of markets, subtleness of cross cultural behaviour and intricacies of processes adopted in different geographies to deliver products and services, since the markets operate in diverse cultures and across boundaries.

MBS meets these three demands of the present day challenges faced by the existing management education. MBS offers a comprehensive curriculum which introduces the relevance into learning. Role and domain focused teaching and grooming of the future managers, shapes them to be deployable from day one. Considering today's global competitiveness, it becomes critical for an aspiring manager to be able to look beyond boundaries and to work in global settings. The international immersion segment is very vital in this respect and I truly feel that MBS will bring about a dynamic and vibrant change and facilitate overcome these hurdles of the existing models of management education.
